What I have been doing while away from here.

As you know I have been absent for a while and I thought I would fill you in on what I have been doing so secretly! I have been working on a few crocheted hot pads for Michele Maks for her new online magazine Mainly Crochet, which should be up and running in just a few days! So exciting!! I could show you each in a seperate picture but that would take a while! I did a few tapestry ones and a few filet ones. I also did a purse for her too. All these patterns will be found on the magazine website once it is running.

Book Review: The Finer Edge by Kristin Omdahl

First. let me just say I am sorry I have been absent from my blog for so long. These past couple of months have been so busy and have just flown by. I will catch you all up with my exploits soon!

I am honored to be chosen as a blogger to review The Finer Edge by Kristin Omdahl. She is an amazing designer and one of my personal favorites. Her designs in this book are simply beautiful. If you need a special or unique edging for your project, check out the edgings in this book. I assure you that you will find something to adore!

I found a few typographical errors however, such as the listing of 12 garments on the back of the book when there are only 10 garment designs. Also, the Persepolis Top is sized to XL but at one point in the pattern is says for size XL and 2x. I also found a few minor word errors but even with all these small errors, this is a terrific book! One I highly recommend and think is worth the price!

I decided to give the Babylonia Hat a try as I have never found the time to try Bruges Lace before. After a little confusion on rows 2 and 4, which were cleared up with the stitch diagram provided, I completed the hat in record time and I LOVE it!! So did my friend, whom I gave it to before remembering to take a picture to show you all! Ooops!

Well, I before I go, I have an extra book to give to one lucky follower. So If you want the copy just comment on my blog and on July 1, 2013 I will pick a random winner! Good Luck!!!!

And if you aren’t the lucky one you can get a copy of this useful and beautiful book, The Finer Edge by Kristin Omdahl, at one of the links above.

I’ll try not to be gone so long this time! See you all soon!
